Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring, source artwork for testing image compression
Girl with a Pearl Earring by Johannes Vermeer (public domain). This is a source preview. Use the sample button to generate a result with your current settings.
Before you attach

A smaller file, ready to check.

A 50KB limit leaves more room than a very small signature field, but it still cannot accommodate every full-resolution photo. Upload the original and let the tool balance quality with pixel dimensions. The exported file must fit within 50,000 bytes. A successful size conversion means that byte limit was met; it is not a promise of acceptance by a form or service.

  1. Match the fieldConfirm that you are editing the photo requested by the current field. Photo, signature and supporting-document uploads can have different rules on the same form.
  2. Check format supportKeep JPG if the instructions require JPEG. WebP is an alternative only when allowed. An accepted filename extension is not proof that the actual format is supported.
  3. Review the downloadOpen the saved image before attaching it. Look at the central subject and the corners so that accidental rotation, blank borders or clipping do not pass unnoticed.

Keep enough detail for the job

The best-looking upload begins with suitable framing. If only a small face or object in a large image matters, crop the original in an editor first. This tool resizes the whole picture; it cannot decide which content the destination expects. Removing irrelevant background can make the remaining subject easier to read within the same byte budget.

For text-heavy scans, a photo compressor may soften small letters before it reaches the target. Check every line that matters, especially numbers and punctuation. If the receiving service allows a document format or a larger image, use its permitted option. A file that is small enough but unreadable does not serve the purpose of the upload.

The preview shown before uploading is source artwork for trying the tool, not a claimed 50KB output. Use the sample button to create a fresh result at this page’s current target. Each result shows exact bytes and dimensions. If your instructions specify a different ceiling, choose the 30KB or 100KB page, or enter the correct value directly.

Need control over export quality rather than a byte cap? Try the image compressor.

Questions

Good to know.

How can I compress a photo to less than 50KB?

Upload it with the target set to 50KB, choose a supported output format and download the result. The cap is 50,000 bytes, and the tool reports the exported file’s actual byte count.

Can I keep the original resolution?

Sometimes. The tool first tries quality changes at its safe working dimensions, then makes the image smaller if necessary. The final dimensions appear beside the download.

Does this also make a PDF smaller than 50KB?

No. This tool accepts image files and exports JPG or WebP. It does not process PDFs or verify readability of a document scan.
