Use the room you are allowed.
100KB is the limit for the IBPS handwritten declaration and the UPSC signature, and a handy size for profile photos and email. A big camera photo may still need fewer pixels to fit. Every time you change the target, the tool starts again from your original.
- Think about where it goesA small profile picture and a document someone must read need different care. Judge it at the size people will see.
- Mind the backgroundJPG turns transparent areas white. Pick WebP only if the site accepts it and you need transparency.
- Check size and detailCompare the size with your limit, then look at faces or small text before you save.
More pixels is not always better
A huge photo has to lose a lot of quality to fit in 100KB. Making it smaller in pixels often looks better. For a profile picture that is fine; for a chart, check the labels.
If the form needs an exact width and height, open Pixel size and enter them. The tool does not crop, add borders or pad a file up to a minimum.
Here 100KB means 100,000 bytes. Your computer may show a lower number for the same file. Use 200KB if you are allowed more, or 50KB for a stricter form.

Good to know.
Is 100KB the same as 100,000 bytes?
On this tool, yes. Some computers count 1,024 bytes per KB, so the exact byte count is shown too.
Can I use this for a profile picture?
Yes. It shrinks the photo you give it; it does not crop it to a square.
Does a 100KB image always look better than a 50KB one?
Usually it keeps more detail, but it depends on the photo. Try both from the same original and compare.
